Istria & Kvarner Yacht Charter

If you’re looking for a green paradise, make sure to mention that to your charter agency or boat owner, because they will definitely recommend you to visit Istria - Croatia’s largest peninsula. Istria’s local waters will take you to marinas and small, charming Istrian towns, and this is precisely why many nautical fans decide to charter a boat in Istria.

At the very south of Istria, you will find an interesting smaller peninsula called Donji Kamenjak - its coast comprises more than 30 coves! If you’re planning to visit it, make sure to bring scuba diving equipment, as beneath the sea’s surface awaits a whole new world to discover - crabs, beadlet anemones, a multitude of algae and many kinds of fish.

For your island hopping journey in Kvarner Bay, we recommend you to rent a yacht, sailboat or catamaran. Try the healing mud of the Krk island, and when you arrive to Cres, be sure to visit the Lubenice settlement, which is perched on a cliff, 378 meters above the sea. Sail to Lošinj and Rab, and make sure not to miss an increasingly popular cove among the sailing community - the St. Nicholas cove on the Mali Brijun island. Nearby is the Brijuni National Park, where sailing is allowed solely for the purpose of getting into and berthing at the Veliki Brijun port or St. Nicholas cove. Also make sure to visit some of the wonderful smaller islands, such as Unije, Plavnik, Sv. Grgur, Goli otok or Susak, which will delight fans of sand with its numerous shallow sandy coves.

If you have time to get off the boat, be sure to visit some of the local towns. Rovinj will charm you with its quaint streets, and Poreč will intrigue you with its cultural heritage. Tennis fans will find Umag especially attractive, as this is where the well-known ATP Croatia Open tennis tournament takes place. Anyone who’s interested in film should definitely visit Motovun, with its annual open-air film festival. There are also smaller, romantic little towns, such as Grožnjan, Svetvinčenat, and others, hiding numerous historical legends and fairytale landscapes.

If you’re arriving to Istria on a scheduled flight, you’ll land at the Pula Airport; you can find all additional flight information via the following link:

If you’ve booked a boat in Lošinj or Krk, it will certainly be more convenient to choose a flight landing at the Rijeka Airport, located on the Krk island. You can find all the flights via the following link:
